Frequently Asked Questions

Alterations

What will I need for the alteration appointment?

It is very important that you have your undergarments (bra, slip, etc.) and shoes for all your alteration appointments. The shoes and slip will determine the length of your gown and the bra will help for the foundation of your bodice. We welcome you to look at the B.Gorgeous Store for a selection of beautiful accessories, veils and more.

What should I expect during my alteration appointment

In general, you will have 3 alteration appointments with your seamstress. The first appointment will take about one hour and the seamstress will pin your gown in the store. The scheduling of your second appointment will be arranged by you and your seamstress during the first fitting. At your second appointment, you will see the work that has been done on your gown. If you need any finishing alterations, you and your seamstress may need to arrange 3rd appointment.

Other

What is a trunk show?

A trunk show is a special in-store event, lasting a limited amount of time, where you can view and buy from a designer’s latest collection months before they hit the stores. If you find the dress of your dreams at a trunk show, be prepared to make a decision that day, as the gown will not be in the store once the trunk show is over.

HELP! I'm getting married less than 4 months! Is it too late to get a gown from you?

No, it's not too late, but every second counts! Your options include buying one of our samples off the rack or working with a consultant to determine which designers can meet your time frame for a "special order" gown, which could include an additional rush charge.

What is a rush order?

If your wedding date is sooner than the time we typically need to have a special-order gown brought in, we’ll need to consult with the designer and place a “rush” order, for an additional fee. Each designer has an outline of their own rush fees.

Shopping

Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?

In order to give you the full attention of our experienced consultants, appointments are necessary. For browsing different type of dresses, no appointment is necessary.

How long will my appointment be?

Bridal gown appointments are 1.5 hours unless otherwise requested. Prom and Bridesmaids appointment are typically 1 hour.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Pictures always help but bring an open mind: don’t be surprised if you find “the dress” on your first visit at B.Gorgeous . Please bring your own shoes and undergarments to use when you try on gowns. We will provide you with a satin robe to wear in the changing room for your own comfort.

What size gowns are available for me to try on?

Most of our samples are the traditional sample sizes between 6 and 18. We also carry selection of designer samples that starts with size 18w up to size 28w.

May I take pictures of the gowns while I try them on?

We do not allow cameras in the fitting rooms while you are shopping. Once you have purchased a dress, you may take as many pictures as you’d like.

Who should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring the closest friends or family members whose opinion you value the most. This is your special day and we suggest you share it with people that are close to you. We do not recommed a party over 6 as this may take the attention of the Bride and cause unnecessary confusion.

All of our accessories in store including veils and headpieces are sold off the floor. If you have a special inquiry about a certain piece please contact the store and they will give you an estimated shipping time.
